There is one more week to donate. Come to CIC during working hours any day, or on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11-8pm when Ayman and I will be there.

The first collection day for 1001 Things was a great success. Above you can see a sampling of the things we’ve collected.
We will be stationed at CIC every Saturday and Wednesday between now and October 30th, from 11AM to 8PM. Come, and bring your object and your story.

ماذا يشعرك بأنك في دارك؟ هو مشروع تجهيز تعاوني يسعى لإجابة على هذا السؤال من خلال خلق مساحة منزلية تتألف من ممتلكات شخصية عديدة. ندعو الجميع للتبرع بغرض ما، وكذلك لإخبارنا قصته. سوف ترد جميع تلك الأغراض بعد انقضاء المعرض، كما سوف نحسن رعايتها خلاله.
سوف يتم تجهيز عرض من الأغراض المجمّعة في مركز الصورة المعاصرة في منتصف شهر نوفمبر، الذي سوف يصير متحفاً لأغراض يومية، ينطوي كل منها على قصة. لإنشاء التجهيز، فإننا نسعى إلى أي أغراض منزلية: الكتب والمفكرات والطاولات والمقاعد والنباتات والصور الفوتوغرافية والأعمال الفنية والسجاد ومفارش المائدة. أي شيء وكل شيء قد يجعلك تشعر بأن دارك هي لك.

What makes your home feel like your home? 1,001 Things is a collaborative installation project that seeks to answer this question by creating a domestic space composed of many individuals’ personal possessions. We invite everyone to donate an object and tell us its story! All objects will be returned at the end of the exhibition and well-cared for throughout.
The collected objects will be installed in the Contemporary Image Collective’s exhibition space in November, forming a museum of everyday things, each containing a story. To create the installation we are seeking any and all household objects: books, notebooks, tables, chairs, plants, photographs, artwork, rugs, tablecloths, any and everything that makes your home feel like your home.
